While walking through the BK I happened upon this...ahem...display in the front yard of someone's home. As Nick poetically said "It looks like someone's abandoned childhood."
The saddest are the two Pooh Bears, esp the one face down in the dirt. I was creeped out by the whole display.
I'm a huge New York-phile. While I was born and raised in Brooklyn, I lived in the suburbs and then Chicago for part of my life and have returned to the city as an adult which has given me the unique perspective of being in awe of the city and its spirit, while maintaining much of that "I've been here, I knew what it was like when, it's home" vibe that many old skoolers have. The people that surround me are a real mash up of born and bred New Yorkers and transplants completely in love with the city. I'm rediscovering this city, from fancy dance clubs and fashion kids, to Brooklyn bike rides, art events and potlucks.
