WTF is with American Apparel Mannequins?

I once wrote about the very strange Forever 21 mannequins, and now it seems that American Apparel has taken a tragic turn of really strange dress forms. There is nothing sexy about the semi-squat with the legs a-kimbo.
Equally unappealing is the kneel-whilst-you-strangle-me pose, to the right, a little-lord-fonterloy jaunty stance.
