Katie and I crashed the Love Brigade party and it was kinda fab. They didn't have a fashion show, it was a fashion event. All over the space were little vignettes with kids dressed in Love Brigade clothing. It was a little strange, and mostly fun. The booze ran out, so that was a lame. Overall I could see what they were trying to do, it was an event with no budget and they succeeded in brining in some press. Good job Love Brigade!
I'm a huge New York-phile. While I was born and raised in Brooklyn, I lived in the suburbs and then Chicago for part of my life and have returned to the city as an adult which has given me the unique perspective of being in awe of the city and its spirit, while maintaining much of that "I've been here, I knew what it was like when, it's home" vibe that many old skoolers have. The people that surround me are a real mash up of born and bred New Yorkers and transplants completely in love with the city. I'm rediscovering this city, from fancy dance clubs and fashion kids, to Brooklyn bike rides, art events and potlucks.
