Ye Olde Schoole Shoppe Signe

The corner store around the bouts of where I make da bling bling has been revamping their space. The took off their old skuzzy awning to reveal their even older and totes awesome sign! I hope they keep the sign going after they finish their remodeling, its so pure, subtley retro, and stunning in its simplicity. Please Super Ace Markets, keep love the old skool love alive!

Spring! Scratch that- SUMMER!

In a typical fucked up kind of way, New York decided to forgo spring in lieu of hardcore summer weather straight off the bat. Hello heat wave! Which for those of us who suffer allergies, it was less than awesome, but still stunningly beautiful. I can't hate. I bet the cherry blossoms looks amazing in the Botanical Gardens.
I'm happy for the rain last night, kill those pollen drifts!

I know I've been a naughty blogger, so infrequent. I'm back on the bandwagon!

Snow Day

Did you notice it was snowing yesterday? I could barely tell. And people were allz like Thundersnow! And Snowpocolapyse! I mean, what are they talking about, it was just a light dusting.
WHITEOUT!

Highlighter

A practice in absurdity.

Phillip and I often have lunch together, on a more or less weekly basis. And we have also decided that the most bizarre, yet delish place to get or lunch on is the Burrito Bar(n). The sound system is always pumping out awkward music, and the food is all named strange things like- The Tiny Tim Tacos. Sounds a bit cannibalistic, hey?

So to add to the delightful aura of the Burrito Bar, they gave us a highlighter to sign our checks with...
I mean, why not?

Outta townahs!

I love love love having friends come to visit. I've said it before and I'll say it again- I could be a tour guide for the unorthodox visit. This city's cup over floweth with good things to eat, fun things to do, and interesting people to spend time with. What more could you want!?
So when Emily and Evan came to make a NY visit- I was very excited to show them my home 'hood, the BK! Emily is totes in love with the city, but Evan is on the fence, so my job was to help him fall head over heels with the place.
Since our time together was short, we did a small tour of the park and then over to a very cool 7th ave bar that I never stop inside but have always wanted too. Of course, dear readers, I already don't know the name.
They got a taste of my apt, Prospect Heights, the Park, Park Slope, and the long wait for the F train. We were waiting so long, and since they were en route to meet a friend, they called using-get this- the phone in the subway station! A NY First! Even I've never done that!
This weekend our mutual friend is coming to the city. This kid loves adventure. Not necessarily "posh bars New York nightlife adventure," more like "climbing mountains in Montreal in inappropriate footwear adventure!" I'm going to take him bike riding and to Governor's Island for sure. I can't wait!
TONIGHT- Fashion Week's last night... can I make it? We shall seeee...

Best-ele

This is how I feel when my best friends come together. Like running around a field like a crazy person in the best way.
Lisa is soooo beautiful, and joyful, and I love hanging out with her. Even when she wears a grandma sweater. Back in the day we used to call her Big Pun because she liked puns and bad jokes so much. From then to now, not much has changed. She still comes over whenever my parents have a bbq, because she made up an imaginary house next door to mine that she lives in. Its really very well decorated.

We're high on the bar!

Narcissism at its best

Agathe has left! And I am crying big old tears. And drinking tig old beers...
Anyways before she left we had a brooklyn centric photo shoot for a variety of reasons.
-She loves Brooklyn really alot.
-She is attempting to further her styling career and thought they would be good for her portfolio.
-We're total girls.

Free Willie Nelson

I'm not sure what this camper is all about, but I spotted it a few weeks ago in Park Slope. It encouraged fantasies of road tripping over the US and South America with a bunch of guitar, banjo, and ukulele toting pals. Pumping out the jamz as we drive down the CA coast. Mmmmm, I can hear it now.
The camper had makeshift surfboard and bike racks on the front and back. This is a trip I can totally get behind. Plus a vintage camper, sign me up!
Then- in total creeper style- the camper followed me to Alphabet City later in the week. Like, wtf camper? Go find someone else to stalk.
In all seriousness, I want to hang out with whoever drives this baby around. Although it feels rather oxymoronic to say in all seriousness when we're talking about Free Willy or Willie Nelson, hey?
