Tom Dixon

To kick off ICFF week, whilst everyone was still in high spirits and excited about the week- no one was partied out yet, and everyone was amped to see each other, there was a Tom Dixon party in a penthouse. It was a stunning space and everyone in the industry was there, well dressed, and the booze was flowing quite freely. Needless to say it was totes alot of fun.
And I got to take some photos that I was quite proud of.

And then I creeped around the land and took pictures of other people's roof tops. I thought it was an interesting point of view, as for the most part I'm down there, and now I'm up here.
And it was so beautiful. I was jealous of me.
There was cool roof top art on one of the buildings, which is something one would only have the privledge of viewing if they were up on high.

ICFF

So basically I was in the land of brand new furniture for a long, long time, hence why I wasn't updating so frequently. It was FABULOUS, but also exhausting. Here are some pics from the fair itself. To my right is the fabulous Jamie Haymon chair. I love on him so bad.

More Haymon, he was all over the land.

A Vitra elephant table. Adorable.

Malo soft paper walls. I know these are old news and have been around forever, but that doesn't mean that I don't think they aren't super cool. Because they are. Totes.

This was the coolest table, made from old police horses. And the designer is a Brooklynite! HOller!

Kartell, manufactuer of my favorite Phillip Starke ghost chairs, was tasting the rainbow for thier display this year.

Tom Dixon's booth, wacky and amazing. PLaying with proportions as per usual.

Roof top madness

I am almost in the land of lofts, aka Bushwick. I lived there for two weeks, but since then I don't really stop by too often (there are not nearly enough trees!). Of course when I'm invited to a loft party I'm totes there.

A long exposure from the rooftop!

For me, I had to experement with my camera at night, which I'm still not sure how to use it exactly, but I had fun playing. David and Alex both brought their film cameras, I can't wait to see how those pics turned out.

Speaking of Alex, it was his grand return to the city, and we were all so happy to see him! Welcome back Schmalex!

Babs looked amazing in her vintage dress!

This whole night just made me remember how amazing my friends are and how lucky I am to have them around! They make even "not the funnest" loft parties the ballerest, just because they are there. High five pals!

the Ballerest Memorial Day BBQ after Memorial Day

JUMPING FOR JOY!
Good news- my camera is back in action! I have a ton of old photos (which means old experiences to share with you, and when I say old, I mean passe not old. I'm too cool to be old) to post up, and I'm going to go back in time, starting with today and moving backwards until we are all caught up.

So I liked the tradition of hosting a bbq at my parents' house, now that I don't live there anymore. Its a nice escape from the city, a back yard, a real grill, a really good dog, and of course my momz. So for my second (or third?) annual bbq, I invited only the best people and we got down.
I like to think as the bbq as a gift from me to my friends and fam fam- I'll bring the food and locale, and you'll bring your smilely face and some booze. And since my ma makes really good potatoe salad, humus, coscos salad, and burgers (for those meat eaters out there...) we all got the added bonus of home made good eats.
The trees, the grass, the hammock, and the outdoors was a really nice switch up from the craziness of NYC. I think it goes without saying we all love and would never change the hustle and bustle of our favorite city, but sometimes we all need a break. I would hate to live in the subrurbs (again) but I like that I can come home and chill. And hang with my dog. That's my mom! Hostess extradonairre!
We spread out a blanket in the backyard for chilaxing, and my dad brought out the hammock for hanging.
The hammock provided endless entrtainment of entering and dismounts from it, there were a few fantastic tumbles in out, and on top of each other. And the ever popular-how many people can we fit in this hammock- which goes against all my dad's rule of only two people per hammock.
RULES WERE MADE FOR BREAKING- DAD!
Katie combined hanging with chilaxing, and showed off her hammock marks. Marks of PRIDE!

Bob- who looks at life through rose colored glasses- brought his guitar. I busted out my old drum kit from the basement and jams were made.

And the jamz were sweet. Catherine tried her hand at the drums also. We played with wooden spoons since we couldn't find any drum sticks.
Phillip got down.

Sky Gazin'.
And this is what we saw. No tall buildings in sight.

Mmmmm relaxation.
