Sunny Days
I went to Bushwickiamsburg for brunch on Saturday. It was such a beautiful day I walked around and spent more time outside than inside. It made me remember that as much as I love winter, there is something to be said for a nice sunny warm day and not wearing layers.

Ben Jones
It was really hip, colorful, loud, and patterned. In other words, I fell in love. The joint was SO packed that I couldn't really take decent photos of the work, but I think that just gives you, the reader, more incentive to check out the jamz in real life.

Union Pool
What was annoying was that everyone was telling me that this bar was the ballerest bar in the burg, and all the cool kids go there and everything is the best if its at Union Pool.
I finally had the good time. The bar was crowded, almost uncomfortably so, but the peeps seemed cool. The fire pit was really amazing, keeping me warm- and I got the ballerest photo (see above). Finally the band playing, of which I caught the last two songs of, was really damn good. If only I could remember their name.
Plus they have a taco truck within the limits of the outdoor area with good Mexican jams, and a really good dj plays once the bands are done doing their thing. I was there until 4 in the AM, dancing.

GUNG HAY FAT CHOI!
BUT NORA! In the middle of the plate is an enormous pile of sauteed onion, you love onion!
Actually, its sea cucumber... whatever that is. Surrounded by all sorts of other fish, meat, and meat with pieces of things, around the pile.
-my Chinese grandma viciously shouting at waiters, she's an intense lady, don't fux with her
-eating a beer, or two or three, for sustenance
-watching the STRANGEST tv program on the mulitple TV's in the hall

Resturant Week
The Ladies and I went out for NY's Resturant Week, to Toqueville which was amazing. Well, I guess it would have been even more if I was a meat eater... spending that much money on food should include copious amounts of booze because risoto doesn't cost that much to prepare.
Stepping off my soap box.
For those of you who don't know, Resturant Week is this time period, like two weeks really, where fancy schamncy places open up thier doors for the poors (me, you, my friends...) and give you a menu full of apetizers that they try to pass for entries, and you all eat it and feel fancy for a night and then stumble home wondering why your wallet feels so much lighter. It's cheaper but its not really cheap.
It was Bridget's birthday also! We celebrated our good friend with plenty of cheers. It was VERY fancy and the service was slow, but we supect they did it on purpose because we were having so much fun enjoying each other's company.
AND since they ran out of the desert accompanying the Prix Fixe menu, they prepaired for us five seperate desserts, ala carte, and gave us free tea and coffee to make up for it. I took thier pictures because it was so pretty to look at.
I guess the sorbets did look like little colored poops, but delcious.

Cadence
Last Friday was almost as beautiful as it is today (I don't care about Punxsutawney Phil, its gorgeous outside) and I walked to the apt in the middle of the day. On that walk I passed a marching band practicing in Grand Army Plaza, why I can't figure, but I did snap some video.
No horns (my FAVORITE, I really like marching bands for this reason) but a nice cadence. I could hear it almost all the way to the apt. Spring is just 'round the corner (though I'm still crossing my fingers for a good blizzard and two feet of snow).
